Dr. Dettman was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from Coronado High School. She received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology from UTEP and Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. She began her career in 1992 at the Northeast Veterinary Clinic but later transferred to the Montana Animal Clinic. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but particularly soft tissue surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and actively competes in many dog sports with a focus on dog agility. She has achieved many championships in agility and conformation but has also competed in obedience, rally, and herding. She currently owns 4 dogs(3 Australian Shepherds and 1 smooth collie) and 4 cats.
